Makes a tasty Carob Tigernut Granola!

Starting on an AIP elimination diet meant coming up with some tasty substitutes. This carob powder doesn't taste exactly like chocolate but it's a good healthy substitute. Combining carob powder with coconut butter makes a tasty dip. I've also used this carob powder in smoothies and hot "chocolate". I'd recommend giving it a try.

    Pleasantly surprised!

I love chocolate...unfortunately, it keeps me awake. I tried this Carob Powder on a whim. Oh my goodness!!! All I can say is, I wish I had found this sooner! Although it's not exactly the same taste as chocolate, it's pretty darn close. I make "hot chocolate" with it, I add it to my smoothies, I haven't tried baking with it, but that's next on my list! I'm sold! This will be a recurring purchase!

    Good substitute

I knew this wasn't going to be like chocolate, because - it's carob. But it is a nice additive to my smoothies and adds some depth and a hint of chocolate flavor plus coloring. Plus I can make a carob coconut "hot cocoa." The powder is nice and fine, mixes well and there is a lot of it so it will last.

    Chatfields Carob Powder

I just got my first can of this and I am so happy. I made marshmallows and I dip them in the care of powder and it was like having chocolate covered marshmallows. Then I decided to be brave even though it’s 101 here and make some hot chocolate. I can’t have coconut so I decided to try it with just water. And it taste really good. I am so happy I miss chocolate so much. I can’t wait to come up with other ideas to use with this product

    Not good enough

I'm not huge on chocolate, but this isn't a good enough substitute at least for 2/3 recipes (hot cocoa and brownies) that I have planned with it. I have not tried to make carob chips yet.

    Great alternative to cocoa powder

This is a nice alternative to cocoa powder. I blend this into smoothies and farina. I plan to also use this to make energy balls. If you miss chocolate, give this a try. Also, this canister is quite large, so it will likely last a long time.
