    Good substitute

I knew this wasn't going to be like chocolate, because - it's carob. But it is a nice additive to my smoothies and adds some depth and a hint of chocolate flavor plus coloring. Plus I can make a carob coconut "hot cocoa." The powder is nice and fine, mixes well and there is a lot of it so it will last.

    Chatfields Carob Powder

I just got my first can of this and I am so happy. I made marshmallows and I dip them in the care of powder and it was like having chocolate covered marshmallows. Then I decided to be brave even though it’s 101 here and make some hot chocolate. I can’t have coconut so I decided to try it with just water. And it taste really good. I am so happy I miss chocolate so much. I can’t wait to come up with other ideas to use with this product

    Not good enough

I'm not huge on chocolate, but this isn't a good enough substitute at least for 2/3 recipes (hot cocoa and brownies) that I have planned with it. I have not tried to make carob chips yet.

    Great alternative to cocoa powder

This is a nice alternative to cocoa powder. I blend this into smoothies and farina. I plan to also use this to make energy balls. If you miss chocolate, give this a try. Also, this canister is quite large, so it will likely last a long time.
